The Kingdom Project
Our Story and Vision for the Future
First Christian Church of Malvern (FCCM) began as the Church of Christ of Malvern in 1870, with the original building constructed on Porter Street around 1873. Over the years, the church steadily grew, expanding the building several times. By the early 1980s, the congregation had outgrown the space—pews were full, and expansion was no longer possible. In 1983, a large parcel of land on the edge of town was purchased, and in 1985, our current facility was built—boldly designed to be “big enough to never outgrow.”
Yet here we are, 40 years later, outgrowing that vision.
On March 8, 2020, our leaders announced plans to build a larger worship center. The existing worship space would be repurposed to expand our children’s ministry. Just days later, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. But we quickly pivoted online, continued teaching God’s Word, and even welcomed new members who found us virtually and later joined us in person.
In fall 2021, we reaffirmed God's call to expand. Realizing a large mortgage wasn't sustainable, we launched The Kingdom Project—a capital campaign fueled by prayer, fasting, and sacrificial giving above regular tithes.
By 2024, weekly attendance averaged nearly 800. In 2025, we’re approaching 900—and still growing. The need for a larger worship center is greater than ever. Though the task feels impossible, we serve a God for whom nothing is impossible.
Join us on this exciting journey and witness what God can do. To support the building of our new worship center, visit fccmonline.org/give.
